Attentiveness, quick thinking, interactive counseling-makes me very comfortable so that I express my innermost thoughts without inhibitions and responds immediately with effective insight or questions for further clarification.
I did not know how I would take to the phone counseling but have found it is very conducive to expressing thoughts with less inhibitions and seems more efficient (you do not have to worry about the logistics of getting to an appointment).
Joel’s flexibility and willingness to fit into my schedule. Joel’s pressure to keep me on track and focused. Joel is not afraid to point out those times when I am less focused and work with me on how to increase my track and focus. Joel is personable, energetic and sincere. He seems to take great pride in his work with you. He is proactive in helping you reach decisions and seems to be proactive in making sure he is up to date on new techniques, theories, exercises, words of wisdom and encouragement. I like that he passes all of this on to us. I like that Joel is unstructured in working with me. We go with what seems to be of most importance regardless of a pre-planned session.
Uncovering my passions. Over the last 5 years, in my current career, I was constantly frustrated and felt that I lacked passion. The Dream Job Process has helped me to realize that I do not lack it. It is present, and I was feeling so trapped by my career that I had forgotten about it. I realized that something I have loved forever just might be something I could have as a career. With the confidence I’ve gained from coaching with Joel, I am following a career path I had not thought was possible. I have more strength and less fear, and have been able to include the most important people in my life in this journey.
Joel is not the typical career counselor who has you take tests that purport to tell you who you are. He has you dig into the depths of yourself and discover who you are. He catches me if I’m not true to myself and encourages me every step of the way. He is up to date on new techniques, theories, exercises and words of wisdom. He balances structure with following spontaneous insights to allow the greatest growth possible. In our phone sessions, I’m able to express my thoughts with less inhibitions and more efficiently. Joel is spiritual, sincere, energetic, perceptive, prompt, professional and confidential.
