I was doing PR for a high-tech company, feeling very dissatisfied with my work, my manager and where my career was going. I was on the fast track, really, for success but I knew that I didn’t want to stay there but didn’t know where else I wanted to be. My primary goal was to define my dream job. During the coaching process, I gained skills that really improved the job I had at the time, was able to easily land a new job that I really wanted, with a good compensation package to boot and clearly define my dream job. I’m much more motivated to work towards my dreams because I actually feel that they are realistic now, rather than just pipe dreams. I couldn’t have changed that mindset without my work with Joel.
His intuitiveness and his ability to really listen helped me immeasurably in the process. Often I had the answers to a lot of my questions but didn’t know it until working through an issue with Joel. He really believes in the unique gifts of each of his clients and that belief is contagious and inspiring. He is always available and willing to help, offers good guidance and tools to continue through the process. I am completely satisfied with my work with Joel and feel that it’s some of the best money I could ever spend.
Certainly you can focus simply on your job, current or future, and work with Joel to make it better. But I think you get out of it what you put into it, and by putting everything I had into the process and trusting Joel, I feel that I’ve truly discovered my dream job and my dream life and the path that will take me there.
Joel’s never-wavering support and understanding really helped me to see my abilities and my dreams clearly. By sharing his holistic view of the process, that it’s not only about your job but every aspect of your life, Joel helped me to open up to the possibilities. Things that I had never dreamed possible seemed to just happen, but I know that they are due in large part to the work that Joel and I did together. If you get stuck, he’s there to help you out with exercises, questions, and insight. But, Joel doesn’t do the work for you. If you are dedicated and honest, you can really achieve something great by working with Joel.
Working through the Dream Job Coaching process with Joel has been one of the most valuable experiences I have ever done. The process makes you really dig deep and look at your dreams; barriers that you feel exist in your life; your interaction with co-workers, friends and family. It truly is a process that builds on itself, each step taking you a bit further towards defining your dream job and then how to achieve it.
